and historic city of Hall is first known
to history in 1256. Among the most famous
sights in Hall are the salt mine and the
Hasegg Castle/ Münzerturm to the south
of the city. The upper plaza in the old
city is permeated by a middle-age atmosphere,
and invites all for interesting shopping
and relaxation. The St. Nikolaus church
is located in the heart of Hall.
Hasegg Castle/Münzerturm - The Hall Mint Museum
The six-sided
Münzerturm on the Hasegg Castle, the
signature image of Hall, has a new shine,
and offers a breathtaking cultural experience
for children and parents alike. A total
of 204 steps lead up to the peak of the
accessible Münzerturm. From the top,
the view over medieval Hall unfolds, including
the Inn river valley and the mighty ridge
of the Karwendel range.
St. Nikolaus Church
The first
cornerstone was laid in 1281 for the chapel
on this location. In the course of time,
the chapel was extended and modified into
a late-Gothic Hall church. The Gothic tower,
raised in 1345, was replaced by a baroque
example following the large earthquake in
1670.
